Suck Tornado Suck

I like big construction trucks as they are an awesome display of man's ability to kick ass. Kind of like my Tonka trucks growing up, I just loved them. Well here is another impressive truck that you may have seen but never knew what it is they do...meet the Hydro Excavation trucks. They all do essentially the same thing but they can have different names, like Vac-Tron and Saugmaster.

Suction excavators perform a much needed job and save a lot of time and money. These machines suck out or remove earth around existing buried services. Compared to big shovel diggers these guys are today's earth moving surgeons. People in the industry refer to this as "day-lighting" as it exposes the underground to daylight.

The suction is just as awesome as the suction inlet air speed may be up to 224 mph. To put this in perspective that is an F4 tornado speed! The earth is sucked out after first being water jetted and then its all sucked up leaving behind a precision hole that exposes utilities. Which makes it a lot safer environment to be around than traditional methods. So the next time you see one those big trucks with the giant hose just think that bad vehicle is holding a tornado inside of it! Awesome.
