There are some strong opinions out there about which trenchless method is preferred. Some plumbers will only do trenchless sewer relining while other plumbers stick with trenchless pipe bursting. We all know there are situations where you cannot shoot a liner, specifically if there is a “belly” or a sag in the line. However, I speak to plumbers on a daily basis where they could easily reline a pipe but they choose to have it burst and will often dig that second access point to complete the process.
We work with a plumber who built his own pipe burster machine and he currently holds the record in Cleveland, OH for the fastest burst job. He laid 220 feet of pipe in 22 minutes!
That is nuts.
However, I have spoke to a few trenchless pipe relining plumbers and they have shot 120 foot runs from inside the clean out in the basement. Now that is a seriously clean job.
So the pros and cons can go either way on this topic. I for one enjoy both methods and its a great feeling to see our customers get the service that they deserve! I can not wait to see what is next for the trenchless sewers industry.
