First off, these are two methods of sewer replacement.Both of these methods are considered trenchless sewer repair and they are intended to be minimally invasive.

With trenchless pipe bursting method an “expander head” is inserted in to the pipe with a new pipe attached to it. It is then forced through the pipe where it is burst and replaced with the new pipe.

Pipe Bursting Method

Trenchless sewer pipe relining does not burst the old pipe but is similar to bursting as it uses a single entry point. A liner is shot in to the existing pipe and is coated with an epoxy were it hardens in place. What you are left with is a pipe inside a pipe.

Pipe Lining Method

Both are great methods and will usually save you time and money!
